Design Brief

A former industrial storefront turned condo was acquired by a music producer who works from home and desired a luxury kitchen upgrade for his new home. The owner loves bold dark tones, and a minimal aesthetic. Inspired by Japanese Wabi Sabi, we used a palette of dark natural materials such as walnut and concrete over large surface areas to achieve a bold minimal design.

Colors & Materials

  • Grey Moroccan tadelakt

  • Natural soapstone countertops

  • Custom walnut kitchen cabinets

  • Stainless steel

  • Matte black

  • Crisp white

The condo had a dividing wall separating a living room study which was removed to open up space and let natural light into the space. With no space for a formal dining room, we extended the kitchen island to allow for a multipurpose eat in area with added counter space. The ceiling vent soffit was removed and the kitchen cabinets were intentionally kept low to highlight the high ceilings.
